Sounds like you and the Wife are committed to this thing. That's the key... along with loads of PATIENCE. My husband and I owed $80k at the beginning of our journey in November 2007 and are down to $35k. It's a great feeling to get beyond the half-way point and to have officially paid off more than you still owe. I eagerly anticipate the end of the month just to make another snowball payment, but at the same time get frustrated that the end of the month doesn't come quick enough, months drag on, and we're still in debt.
